In twenty-nine years I've owned four wheelchair accessible vans and I've done business with four different sales and service providers. I began dealing with R & J Mobility about 9 years ago. The minute I entered their facility I was impressed and I continue to be. The entire team is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't know the answer to a question they tell you so and then they do the research to find it.
Kevin and Gayle advocate for their customers. They make the phone calls to the insurance company and process the paperwork. Gayle recently looked up and emailed me all the service invoices for my van. Thanks to her help I was able to convince VMI to extend the warranty on my van for another year!
You can tell a lot about a repair shop by its cleanliness and order OR lack thereof. Dirty, disorderly shops are a big, red flag. If the management doesn't care about their own facility and equipment you can bet they don't care about you and your vehicle. Parts and tools strewn all over the place? The technicians will spend half their time looking for needed tools and parts. Your repair time will take twice as long. The staff at R & J keep their shop clean. That means swept floors, tools returned to their proper place as soon as they're finished with them and no trace of dirt or grease in your vehicle when the job's complete. They also keep you updated on their progress. The technicians/mechanics will let you know the approximate repair time and if they determine it's going to take longer they let you know when they discover that—not a half-hour after they told you they'd be finished.
In addition, R & J has a very clean and comfortable waiting area with coffee and other drinks available. If your repair is going to take a while and you're going to wait, there's a multi-screen movie theater a block away and downtown Independence also has some nice shops and a couple restaurants within walking/rolling distance.
I'm glad I discovered R & J Mobility when I did. Actually, I wish I had found them a lot sooner. Give them your business. You won't be disappointed!

We did business with another company for years and when we were thinking of looking into buying a Honda instead of a Chrysler we found you. We're are so glad we did. Making a change from one company to another company when you're talking so much money and also time to have to drive for repairs was kinda of scary for Sherrie. People make promise up front but seldom back their word, but not R & J Mobility.
You, Todd, Kevin, Gale, Jody and Denny have gone the extra mile to make sure we have been completely satisfied, especially you Todd. We noticed the other day when we came to pick up our new van everyone treated each customer as if they were the only people in you show room.
A shout out to Denny, you came in early to make sure our van was ready for Todd to make his appointment for us in Portland.

Your thoughtfulness for buying us our favorite DVD for our new van was very much appreciated. I think we're really going to love having a DVD player and Sherrie's doing a great job on leaning to use the Navigation system and phone. Thank you for helping her set up the blue tooth.

Hello R&J Crew! Last Friday my day started like any other typical day. I woke up around 6 am, showered, got dressed, transferred in to my wheelchair and out the door I went. Then a major roadblock happened to completely throw me out of my normal, everyday routine. The wheelchair lift mounted in the back of my truck went completely dead so I was unable to load my wheelchair and head to work. Instead, I sat in the front seat of my truck pounding on my steering wheel yelling, NO, NO, NO!
It’s the Christmas season so money is tight anyway and I am going through several different personal struggles already, now dealing with my lift being broke was pushing my patience over the top, I was thinking to myself, What did I do to deserve this? After a few minutes passed and I gathered my thoughts I made a call out to your shop and explained my dilemma. You told me to drive on out and you would have a look at it. So, that I did! When I pulled in your garage I noticed all the shop guys were all swamped and busy working on other vehicles, yet you quickly assigned someone to address my urgent need. Within a few hours you had my lift working like it did the first day I bought it.
The best part of this story is the part when it came to paying the bill. Some of the staff know of the personal struggles I am going through and even though I had the money to pay for the repairs done to my lift Kevin and the rest of the staff made the decision to not charge me a penny!
I have been using a wheelchair lift such as this one for over 15 years and needed it repaired dozens of times. I have had it fixed at mobility shops all over the country during my travels and not once has the cost for the repairs been waived.
All I can say to all of you at R & J is THANK YOU! In the spirit of Christmas you had perfect timing and provided some hope that things will be better for me. You took the first step in showing me that at this low point in my life, good things can happen and good people still care. You have a friend and a customer for life. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A few weeks ago I bought a lift for my scooter of unknown make or model. I asked if you could make it workable for me. To make matters harder for you, you worked with both my son and me. That may sound easy but both my son and myself were not really sure what we wanted, so it was a guessing game for you.
You all went to work and modified the lift with checking the motor and welding many parts to make the lift work. You came up with some unique and brilliant solutions. So finally you sent me off with a working lift. It took only a week for me to break the lift. I came back to your shop totally dejected and looked at you and said, “It’s broke.” You all calmly, with a smile on all your faces, went about to fix it. As I look back, there was no fault of yours or the lifts, just my mishandling it. You all have patience of a saint.
So it has been about a month from the time I received my lift. I very much love it and am able to go to many of the places that were impossible to go to before. Thank you for making my life so much easier and double thanks for being so patient with me. You are a truly outstanding company and an A-1 group of guys and gals.
