Other Driving Aids

At R & J Mobility Service, we offer a variety of driving aids to assist you while operating a vehicle. These driving aids include (but are not limited to):

  • Adapted Key Holder: A device which by design will improve both grip and turning leverage. (Also referred to as a quad key.)
  • Crossover Gear Shift Extension: A device that attaches to the OEM column mounted gear selector and crosses over to the left of the steering column. (See also gear shift extension).
  • Gear Shift Extension: A device that attaches to the OEM gear selector and offers additional leverage for shifter operation.
  • Manual Parking Brake Extension: A handle, which enables the driver to set the parking brake with their hand.
  • Pedal Extensions: Devices mounted to the brake and/or accelerator for use by a short stature driver.
  • Steering Device Extension: Used to bring the steering device to the customer.
  • Transfer Bar: A bar, handle or strap to assist an individual in movement and/or balance.
  • Turn Signal Extension: A device that attaches to the OEM turn signal lever to allow a different location for activation.

R & J Mobility Service currently offers these driving aids by Mobility Products & Design (MPD) and Manufacturing & Production Services (MPS).

2″ & 3″ Steering Device Extension One of these 2 extensions can be used to bring the steering device closer to the customer.
Extension Control Park Brake Extension Long, sturdy, and easy to reach, this extension makes setting your parking brake a simple task. It adjusts easily for use in a variety of vehicles.
Extension Control Gear Selector Extension Our gear selector can be mounted on the left or right side of your steering wheel, depending on your preference. An extension means extra leverage for the right-hand location. (The left-hand extension is not shown).
Extension Control Right Hand Turn Signal Lever Extension This lightweight crossover lever operates your turn signals easily. We install these products using bands, not screws, leaving your vehicles interior in its original condition.
Dash Mounted Gear Shift Our gear selector can be mounted on the dash of Newer Vehicles.
Hand Style Emergency Brake Our Hand Style Emergency Brake was design to make it easier to depress the button on your E-Brake.
T-Handle Mounted Gear Shift Our gear selector can be mounted to a T-Handle Style Front Mount or Bottom Mount Style Gear Shift

Extension Control Key Extension This Key Extension was designed to provide better leverage when starting your vehicle. This product can be used anywhere that you would use a key, your vehicle, your office, your own front door.
Chrysler 2008 Town & Country Remote Key Pocket Extension This Remote Key Pocket was designed to provide a place to put you remote key and to have better leverage when starting your vehicle.
Daimler Chrysler Remote Key Pocket Extension This Dodge/Chrysler Remote Key Pocket was designed to provide a place to put you remote key and to have better leverage when starting your vehicle.
Ford Key Adapters (2 Styles) These Ford Key Adapters were designed to provide a place to put your key and to have better leverage when starting your vehicle.
Ford Remote Key Pocket Extension This Ford Remote Key Pocket was designed to provide a place to put you remote key and to have better leverage when starting your vehicle.
Toyota Key Adapter This Toyota Key Adapter was designed to provide a place to put your key and to have better leverage when starting your vehicle. Will fit any key with the same profile as the Toyota Sienna.

PLEASE NOTE: Prior to installing any adaptive driving equipment, R&J Mobility requires documentation that the equipment is appropriate for the client. The documentation shall reflect the client’s current functional and medical status. The documentation shall include one of the following:

  • assessment report from a qualified driver rehabilitation specialist that includes specifications for equipment, modifications, and training;
  • properly restricted current driver license;
  • experience in operating the equipment to be installed (current customers only).
