Preventative Maintenance

Often, customers do not realize that the equipment that makes their vehicle wheelchair or scooter accessible needs routine maintenance just like the rest of their vehicle. Maintenance is necessary to ensure safe and trouble free operation.

Every piece of equipment requires different maintenance at different intervals. However, most mobility manufacturers recommend maintenance service every 6 months to 1 year for conversion wheelchair vans, wheelchair lifts, handicap accessible vehicles, scooter lifts and other mobility products. R & J Mobility Service offers a service reminder program to help make sure you mobility equipment lasts long and works as well as you need it to. Fill out the form below to let us know you would like to be a part of our reminder program. You choose the time interval (6 months or 1 year) and we will send a reminder postcard when the next service date is coming up.

If you have a lowered floor conversion van: General preventative maintenance consisting of inspections of conversion systems along with cleaning and lubricating procedures should be a part of your routine (lubrication requirements are minimal). Keeping the passenger slide door lower track pan free of debris, ice and snow is one of the most effective preventative maintenance practices to exercise. Regular preventative maintenance procedures will increase service life, as well as enhancing safety.

Our certified technicians are focused on helping customers maintain the safety and life of their vehicle and understand the importance of keeping the conversion system in top working condition. We are available 24 hours a day to answer any of your service questions.

Our service hours are Monday – Thursday 8:00-5:00 and Friday 7:00-4:00

To keep your conversion system properly working, it is important to service it at least once a year. This service will include:
